​Khalid Zubier is the Vice-Dean for Development and Faculty of Marine Sciences in King Abdulaziz University (KAU), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He is serving as the General Supervisor of Research Vessel Al Azizi, KAU. Dr. Zubier is the Administrative Supervisor of Prince Khaled Bin Sultan Chair for the Conservation of Marine Environment, at the Research and Consultations Institute, KAU. He held a position as the Head of Coastal Pollution Unit, Water Research Center and Served as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator in several research projects in KAU. Dr. Zubier was also the head of Marine Physics Department, 2004-2006. He got his Ph.D. in Oceanography from the University of Maine, USA. His research interests include wave simulation in deep and shallow waters using numerical models, developing oceanic and regional operational wave prediction systems, and developing monitoring systems for physical properties of coastal waters.​
