Research Interests

​Saskia is a biological research technician at the Red Sea Research Center at KAUST. Saskia has expertise in HPLC analysis and purification of glycoproteins (IEX, SEC, RP, affinity chromatography), HPLC analysis of phytoplankton pigments, Flow cytometry (bacteria and picophytoplankton), Fatty acid analysis of plankton using Fast-GC, Elemental analysis, Analysis of stable isotopes (C, N; EA-IRMS), Spectrophotometric analysis (including determination of nutrients in seawater, determination of concentrations of proteins), application of enzymatic treatments, preparation and microscopic analysis of chromosomes, working with cell cultures and fluorescence-in situ-Hybridisation (FISH).
