Research Interests

My main research interests focus on the effects, both positive and negative, of desert dust inputs on the Red Sea environment, in order to better understand the role of atmospheric dust in primary production and nutrient cycles in the Red Sea ecosystem. An important parameter when studying atmospheric dust is the chemical characterization of metals and nutrients in atmospheric desert dust particles, and the atmospheric dynamics governing dust fluxes to the Red Sea, from the perspective of nutrient delivery, marine pollution and climate change science.
