Research Interests

​Studying the bloom dynamics of Red Sea plankton during a mesocosm experiment. Revealing the responses of the microbial community to nutrient enrichment using amplicon sequencing, metagenomic and metatranscriptomics, Investigating the diversity of Red Sea microbial plankton, Investigating the eukaryotic diversity in Red Sea sediments (part of the EU DEVOTES project), Using Artificial Reef Monitoring Systems (ARMS) to assess benthic diversity in the Red Sea (part of the EU DEVOTES project), Utilising amplicon sequencing to investigate the diversity of zooplankton species in the Red Sea.
