A three-way association causing coral injuries in the Red Sea

Keywords

Corals, Spirobranchus, Red Sea, Worms

Abstract

Some corals in the Red Sea that were infested by tube-dwelling Spirobranchus worms showed injuries. These were located at spots where the coral was touched by the worm's operculum and most obvious in case the operculum was overgrown by algae. They present a three-way association of coral, worm and algae.
