Research Interests

Octavio is interested in increasing food production, particularly by increasing salt tolerance of plants. He also interested in agriculture of salinized non-cultivated land. Octavio is currently working with halophytes, investigating the mechanisms of these plants to grow in saline soils, focusing on tissue tolerance.
