Research Interests

My research interests revolve around priority marine habitats such as seagrass meadows, mangrove forests and coral reefs; and how non-invasive, molecular techniques can be used in biodiversity assessment and community ecology investigations, to inform management of such environments.

My masters research focuses on gradients from pristine to degraded habitats and their associated communities. Namely, the epifaunal communities of fragmented seagrass meadows and the fish communities of macroalgal versus coral dominated reefs – comparing sampling techniques for the advancement and standardisation of environmental monitoring in areas of ecological importance.
