​Hailey is using DNA metabarcoding to survey the presence of nonindigenous cryptofauna in natural and artificial habitats in the Red Sea. This research aims to evaluate the colonization of nonindigenous species in coral reefs, marinas, and commercial shipping ports, to establish a robust and rapid baseline monitoring system to assess species distributions and facilitate early detection of biological invasions.
