Talk title: Scales of variability in marine systems
Abstract: Scale of variability is an important aspect of understanding the inherent properties of a marine system. Individual aspects of a system that share the same scale of variability tend to be highly correlated and can indicate that the same physical or biological process is affecting that aspect. This research is focused on a concentrated research effort combining information from three Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), satellite imagery, and High Frequency (HF) radar. Variability will be assessed using the Error X method for 1 dimensional data sets as described in Ward et al. 2018, examining the increase in error as predictive factors from larger distances as used.
