A Multidisciplinary Approach to Research

The University integrates cross-discipline collaboration into its very architecture, and the Red Sea Research Center embraces that approach through its copious research programs that span basic biology, genetics, and informatics to applied mathematics and large-scale computing.

Researchers have access to state-of-the-art facilities on campus for genomic analysis, development and deployment of oceanographic instrumentation, computer simulation and visualization, chemical analysis, nanofabrication, marine science, and oceanographic and geophysical modeling through support of the University’s Core Labs and Facilities.

The role of oceanographic and climate gradients in structuring the Red Sea ecosystem and its vulnerability to change

The goal is to ascertain how the South to North environmental gradients along the Red Sea determine biodiversity, ecosystem function and ecosystem response to change, including both global and local anthropogenic drivers.
