On June 22th Roberto Arrigoni, a research scientist in the Red Sea Research Center (RSRC) has been awarded with the international prize “Benazzi Lentati” in Zoology by the Lincean Academy. 

The Lincean Academy (www.lincei.it) is the oldest scientific academy in the world, being founded in 1603. The international prize was dedicated to international young researchers (below 35 years old) in the field of organismic evolutionary zoology. The scientific committee of Lincean Academy evaluated the candidates on the base of their CVs and selected me as unique winner. The amount of money of this prize is 10000 euro.

Roberto received the prize during the annual ceremony of the end of the academic year of the Lincean Academy, which took place in Rome on June 22th with the presence of the President of the Italian Republic (Sergio Mattarella) and the President of the Chamber of Deputies (Roberto Fico), who are respectively the first and the third authorities of the Italian Republic. There were also the Vice-president of the Senate of the Italian Republic (Paola Taverna) and two ministries of the Italian government (Sergio Costa, ministry of the environment, and Enzo Moavero Milanesi, ministry of foreign affairs).
