14 June, 2022
To celebrate this year's World Ocean Day on 8th June, the Red Sea Research Center hosted 5th to 7th-grade students from TKS. On this day, people around our blue planet celebrate and honor our one shared ocean that connects us all. According to UN SDG 14 – Life Below Water, conserving and sustainably using our oceans, seas, and marine resources is imperative in our path towards sustainable development.
The students learned about the wonders of the Red Sea, its many different ecosystems, and how we can protect them. They enjoyed the underwater VR experience, learned about the whale sharks, coral reefs, brine pools, marine pollution, ocean sounds in a human world, and many more. As part of the open house, students also visited coral nursery aquariums at the CMR.
It was our pleasure to have you!
