My research focuses on blue carbon (mangrove, saltmarsh, and seagrass) stock, stability, and process over different spatial and temporal scales, as well as carbon interactions with minerals and metals. I am proficient in soil and sediment biogeochemistry, soil geography, and geographic information system (GIS).
I have lots of fieldwork experiences on blue carbon habitats and coastal ecosystems such as tidal flats, aquaculture ponds, river deltas, etc., as well as terrestrial ecosystems such as forests and agricultural lands. I mainly conducted fieldwork on blue carbon soil investigation and sampling across the entire coastal line of China. I was granted by the National Science Foundation (NSF), Postdoctoral Science Foundation (PSF) of China, and the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Jiangsu Province for my work on blue carbon preservation and stability.
