Research Interests

Despite their crucial biological and ecological role as bioconstructor, scleractinian corals are one of the most problematic groups from a taxonomic point of view. Among these, the coral genus Dipsastraea (Merulinidae), appears to be one of the least resolved taxa. During my master thesis, I focused on this genus and other related genera, deploying a morpho-molecular approach to better understand their taxonomy and phylogenetic relationships. As a member of the Habitat and Benthic Biodiversity Lab, I would like to further contribute to a deeper comprehension of the Scleractinian coral taxonomy and evolution.
