Research Interests
Marine ecology and ecosystem functioning are, in the broader picture my main interests. Specially, it interests me how species interact between them, with their environment and what effects this interactions have in the functioning of the ecosystems. Understanding such processes is key to develop comprehensive and effective conservation measures that regulate our relationship with nature in order to make a sustainable use of the resources and services that ecosystems provide. There is a social part of conservation science that also calls my attention and in which, I believe scientists have the responsibility to act as informants and be the linking point and voice between a silent nature and humans.
