Research Interests

Rawan Alhazmi joined the KAUST Red Sea Research Center (RSRC) in 2021 as a member of Daniele Daffonchio’s Extreme Systems Microbiology Lab

During her bachelor's journey, she knew how research is important in many perspectives, and enhancing her research skills is what Rawan is looking for. So, she took the decision to take her graduate studies at KAUST where she can collaborate with leading researchers from around the world. Also, KAUST is a well-respected university, and it has great faculty and research facilities including KAUST Core Labs.

Nowadays we know how microbes and their roles in our environment are significant, Rawan's current research is focusing on microbes and their role in the presence, precipitation, and dissolution of carbonates in shallow marine water.
