Research Interests

Environmental pollution and its effects on both environment and aquatic organisms have been the common theme of my whole career. My attention has been mainly focused on polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and their effects on DNA in fish gut cells. Later, I have become more interested in deepening our knowledge about plastic pollution and how this contaminant can affect both marine biota and oceans. Furthermore, I am also interested in global change and coral reef ecology.
